NDL Hikes: Myron Perlman Nature Preserve with Chikaming Open Lands

Wednesday, October 28 | 5 pm – 6:30 pm | Myron Perlman Nature Preserve | All Ages 

Experience the sights and sounds of nature after dark! Join us for an evening hike through the Myron Perlman Nature Preserve as we explore how our eyes adjust to low light and discover which animals come alive at night. Learn about night vision, listen for nocturnal wildlife, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the preserve at dusk.

Please arrive early, as the hike will begin promptly at 5 pm. 

Directions:  13804 Wolkins Rd, Buchanan, MI 49107

Hike Description: This moderate trail includes some elevation changes and areas of mud and dirt.

Suggested Supplies: Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes for uneven terrain and dress in weather-appropriate, comfortable clothing. Bring water, binoculars, and a camera if you’d like to take photos. Hiking poles can also be helpful.

Please note: 

• Parking is available in the park.
• There are NO restrooms available at this location.
• The library will not be providing transportation to or from this event. 
• In the event of bad weather, the hike will be rescheduled to Wednesday, November 4th, at the same time.

No registration is required. You do not need a library card to attend this FREE event.
