AI Exploration Workshop: Hands-On with Generative AI

This workshop immerses you in the world of generative AI tools! We’ll explore some of the top free options and equip you with both basic and advanced prompt-crafting techniques. Bring your own device: laptop, tablet, or phone. Engage in hands-on activities to create compelling content and brainstorm practical applications for your courses. Come share your ideas and leave inspired to integrate generative AI into your teaching!

No registration is required. You do not need a library card to attend this FREE event.

Speaker Bio: 

Alex Ambrose stands at the forefront of artificial intelligence and human learning. As both a sheepdog guardian and shepherd guide, he works tirelessly to help educators, students, communities, and businesses harness AI’s potential while navigating its challenges. His mission is to empower individuals to use the smartest AI in the smartest way that augments critical thinking, fosters creativity, and serves as a catalyst for human flourishing.

At the University of Notre Dame, Alex leads the Kaneb Center’s initiatives on learning assessment, analytics, and AI where he founded the ReAL Design Lab to enhance learning through research and innovative tools. His work has earned him recognition from Google, IBM, USAID, and others.

Alex has shared his expertise globally, helping universities and organizations improve education systems in South America, North America, Europe, Asia,  and the Middle East. Before academia, he served as a U.S. Army captain, leading an infantry platoon in Baghdad and teaching military leadership. Drawing upon two decades of teaching experience across the educational spectrum—from elementary schools to universities—Alex dedicates himself to creating conditions that liberate learning while alleviating unnecessary suffering and harm in education for both students and educators.
