2026 Annual Writing Contest
How It Works
The annual Niles District Library Writing Contest is here! It’s time to get those ideas out of your head, put pen to paper, and submit your writing. Submissions will be accepted from July 1-31. Winners will be announced Monday, August 17. Prizes awarded!
Writing Contest Rules and Information:
- One entry per participant (all rights to the story remain property of the author).
- Entries must be an original work by the entrant. Plagiarism will result in disqualification.
- The story title must appear at the top of each page and all pages must be numbered.
- A printed entry must be accompanied by a submission cover sheet.
- The author’s name must not appear anywhere on the manuscript.
- Works created with AI tools or containing AI-generated content are not considered original and will not be accepted.
Submitting Your Work
- You may fill out a submission cover sheet (available at the Youth Services Desk) and submit a printed version of your work in-person.
- Or you can fill out the digital submission form below and attach your work.
