2025 Niles District Library Writing Contest

Entry Guidelines:

• One entry per participant.
• All entries must be original works created by the entrant.
• Plagiarized submissions will be disqualified.
• Authors retain full rights to their submitted stories.

📄 Submission Instructions:

• A Submission Cover Sheet must be completed and attached to each entry.
• Entries must be hand-delivered and emailed.

• Email: youthservices@nileslibrary.net
• In Person: Niles District Library Youth Services Desk (during regular library hours)

🏆 Winners Announcement:  Monday, August 11, 2025

Categories

Youth ( Ages 0 – 12)

• Story (up to 5,000 words)

Teen (Ages 13 – 17)

• Story (up to 5,000 words)
• Mini Lit (short stories, and essays less than 1,000 words )
• Poetry (less than 1,000 words)

Adult (Ages 18+)

• Story (up to 5,000 words)
• Mini Lit (short stories, and essays less than 1,000 words )
• Poetry (less than 1,000 words)

You do not need a library card to participate in this FREE event.
