Pumpkin Painting

Saturday, October 25 | 10 am – 12 pm | MakerSpace | Ages 6 – 18+

Bring a pumpkin to paint and enter it in the Niles Fall Festival Pumpkin Decorating Contest, sponsored by the Niles Public Arts Commission. Pumpkins will not be provided.

No registration is required. You do not need a library card to participate in this event.

Pumpkin Carving and Decorating Contest Rules

1. Eligibility
The contest is open to all individuals ages 6 to 100+.

2. Entry Categories

• Carved Pumpkins
• Decorated Pumpkins (Non-Carved)

3. Entry Guidelines

• All pumpkins must be family-friendly and appropriate for all audiences.
• Carved entries may include traditional carving or creative cutouts.
• Decorated entries may feature paint, accessories, fabric, or other non-carving methods.
• Only real pumpkins are allowed—no artificial pumpkins.
• All entries must be the original work of the participant(s).

4. Submission Details
Pumpkins must be dropped off on Saturday, October 25, at the Niles History Center between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM.

5. Judging and Prize
Winners will be announced at 2:30 PM.
All pumpkins must be picked up by 4:00 PM on Saturday. The venue cannot guarantee the safety of entries left overnight.

Cash prizes will be awarded in four age groups:

• Ages 6–8
• Ages 9–12
• Ages 13–17
• Ages 18+
