Policies
The Library operates under the premise that patrons are our highest priority. Every contact with a patron will be characterized by fairness, courtesy, and efficiency, and will serve to confirm to our community that we value their patronage. Budget and Planning
The mission of the Niles District Library is to provide our community with access and guidance to resources that inform, entertain, and enrich. As we plan for the future, we intend to capitalize on the unique value we bring to our community. Click here to view Budget and Planning Documents.
Board Meetings
The Library Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 5 pm at the library in the Board Room.
The meetings of the Board of Trustees are subject to the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, which provides for regulated public participation. Click here view Board Meeting Minutes.
Board of Trustees
The Niles District Library is governed by an eight-member Board of Trustees; trustees serve four-year terms without compensation. The City of Niles Council and the Niles Township Board each appoints four board members, who must be registered and qualified to vote in the Library district. Persons meeting these qualifications may apply for consideration for membership by completing a Board Membership Application .
