You are welcome to visit Niles District Library at any time, but a world of books, movies, audiobooks and other resources will be available to you when you obtain a library card. Simply stop by our Circulation Desk to apply!
You will need a picture ID with your current correct address. If you have recently moved and your ID has not been updated, bring both your ID and a piece of business mail (such as your electric bill).
In District Residents: Residents of Niles City and Niles Township are eligible for a Niles District Library card free of charge.
Out of District Residents: If you live outside our district, you may pay for a Subscription Card that offers great value at a low cost: $25 for a whole year.
Children: Anyone under 18 years of age must have their parent or guardian apply for a card, and the adult signing for the card will assume responsibility for the child’s account. To sign up a child for a library card, the responsible adult must have a library card in good standing.
All students at Niles Community Schools and Brandywine Community Schools qualify for library cards, regardless of residence.

Renewing Items
Sometimes life gets too busy to finish that book, audio, or magazine you have borrowed from the library. Most items are easily renewable before they are due, with the exception of movies and items on hold for another patron. Items are renewable for one check-out period. You may renew by phone by calling (269) 683-8545 ext 101, or in person by stopping by the Circulation Desk.
Renewing is especially easy online:
- Go to www.NilesLibrary.com
- Click on “My Account” and log in
- Click on “Items Checked Out” and check the box in front of the item you wish to renew, then click “Go”!
