Through engaging interviews\, tastings\, and educational episodes\, Steve explores the stories\, people\, and heritage behind Michigan wines. Steve’s journey with wine began in 1968 when his father planted the first French wine grapes in Michigan\, sparking a movement that would transform the region. As a teenager\, he worked in production wineries and helped cultivate over 100 grape varieties in his family’s experimental vineyards. This hands-on experience deepened his understanding of the art and science of winemaking. After earning his WSET2 diploma and retiring from a corporate career\, Steve reignited his passion for Michigan wine by launching If Vines Could Talk. Today\, he also offers private tastings and delivers captivating talks that bring the history and craftsmanship of Southwest Michigan winemaking to life. Tune in to If Vines Could Talk on your favorite podcast platform to explore the vibrant stories of Michigan wine.
