DESCRIPTION:NDL Hikes: Trillium Woodlands Preserve \nSaturday\, April 18 | 10am – 11:30am | Trillium Woodland Preserve | All Ages \nExplore the Trillium Woodland Preserve this spring with Chikaming Open Lands’ Education & Outreach Coordinator\, Grace Fredenburg.  Discover the preserve’s diverse plant community and enjoy an abundance of spring wildflowers\, including the striking Great White Trillium (Trillium grandiflorum)\, one of three trillium species that inspired the preserve’s name. \nPlease arrive early\, as the hike will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. \nAddress: 1660 Riverside Rd\, Niles\, MI 49120 \nHike Description: This is an easy-to-moderate hike with occasional elevation changes. \nSuggested Supplies: Wear sturdy\, comfortable footwear for uneven terrain. Dress in layers for warmth\, and bring water\, binoculars\, and a camera if you’d like to take photos. Hiking poles can also be handy. \nPlease Note: \n\nThere are no restroom facilities available at this location.\nThe library will not be providing transportation to or from this event.\nIn the event of bad weather\, the hike will be rescheduled to Saturday\, May 2\, 2026\, at the same time.\n\nFor more information\, please contact Niles District Library at Programming@nileslibrary.net or call 269-683-8545.
