DESCRIPTION:NDL Community Art Project: Granny Square Tapestry \nCall for Crocheters! Be part of our Library Community Art Project by contributing a crochet granny square for a tapestry! Community members are invited to submit one handmade granny square to be included in a shared wall hanging. A limited number of squares will be selected for the final piece; all others will be incorporated into a donated item. Please submit all granny squares to the Information Desk along with a completed submission form. \n\n\n\nSubmission time period\, June 1 – July 11\, 2026 | During regular library hours | Information Desk | Adults 18+\n\n\n\nSubmission Guidelines: \n\nSubmission Form: All entries must be accompanied by a completed submission form.\nSubmission Location: Entries must be submitted in person at the Information Desk.\nSubmission Period: June 1 – July 11\, 2026\, during regular library hours.\nEntry Limit: One square per person. Each granny square must be handmade by the individual submitting it.\nSize: Finished squares should measure approximately 5” x 5”\, with all ends woven in.\nYarn: Worsted-weight yarn is required.\nHook Size: Any hook size may be used\, as long as the finished square measures 5” x 5”.\nColors: All colors are welcome—creativity is encouraged!\nPattern: Any pattern may be used\, provided it results in a 5” x 5” finished square.\nCondition: Submissions must be clean\, odor-free\, and neatly finished.\nReturns: Submissions will not be returned.\nUnused Squares: Squares not selected for the final tapestry will be used in a donated item.\nProject Completion: Late August 2026.\nSkill Level: All skill levels are welcome to participate.\n\nYou do not need a library card to participate in this project.\nFor more information\, please contact Niles District Library\, at programming@nileslibrary.net or 269-683-8545 ext. 116.
