As both a sheepdog guardian and shepherd guide\, he works tirelessly to help educators\, students\, communities\, and businesses harness AI’s potential while navigating its challenges. His mission is to empower individuals to use the smartest AI in the smartest way that augments critical thinking\, fosters creativity\, and serves as a catalyst for human flourishing. \nAt the University of Notre Dame\, Alex leads the Kaneb Center’s initiatives on learning assessment\, analytics\, and AI where he founded the ReAL Design Lab to enhance learning through research and innovative tools. His work has earned him recognition from Google\, IBM\, USAID\, and others. \nAlex has shared his expertise globally\, helping universities and organizations improve education systems in South America\, North America\, Europe\, Asia\,  and the Middle East. Before academia\, he served as a U.S. Army captain\, leading an infantry platoon in Baghdad and teaching military leadership.
