Wilson she will be presenting at the Niles Art Association’s monthly meeting on Tuesday\, September 3rd at 6 pm\, in the library’s Community Room.  \nElaine S. WilsonHow Wonderful A Good Map Is–How I came to chart the WolverineElaine S. Wilson will talk about her ongoing project Charting the Wolverine from its inception in 2008 to its current state\, with 29 “map prints” and over 200 watercolors created. She will describe her research of historic maps and atlases\, and her adventures on the back roads of Michigan and Indiana along the railroad tracks making watercolors and drawings.  \nElaine S. Wilson BiographyElaine S. Wilson’s direct\, light-filled landscapes reveal the specific nature of a place through repeated encounters with a site. She values slow looking to discover what is going on there and to find its unexpected lyricism. She often chooses sites related to issues of displacement\, disruption\, and inequality. \nWilson holds her MFA from Yale School of Art and BFA from Washington University in St Louis School of Art. Her work is in the collections of the Grand Rapids Art Museum\, Library of Congress\, The Univerisity of Michigan Office of the President’ Washington DC artist Bandk\, Herman Miller\, and Cigna Corp. among other public and corporate collections as well as numerous private collections.  \nShe has exhibited widely with over twenty-five solo and two-person shows and has been included in numerous group exhibitions around the country. \nShe has received a National Endowment for the Arts Reginal Artists Fellowship\, a DC Commission on Arts and Humanities Grant\, an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant\, and residency at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation.  \nWilson’s over thirty years of teaching include the College for Creative Studies in Detroit\, the University of Michigan School of Art and Design\, and Washtenaw Community College.  \nShe lives and works in Silver Spring\, Maryland.

DESCRIPTION:Gamer Space: Video Game Tournament: Smash Bros \nSeptember 14th | 11am registration begins\, game time 11:30am | Classroom Concourse | Ages 16+  \nAll players must register between 11am – 11:25 am\, gaming begins at 11:30am.  \nCompete against other champions as you battle in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch. Prove that you’ve got the steel to stand on the shoulders of titans and if you win\, you can put your name on the communal trophy.\nEach player will be given 3 stock per round with a time limit of 7 minutes per match.\nOne-on-one players\, the winner advances to the next round. The loser enters into the loser’s bracket.
